A long-time favourite amongst locals, Tetsa River Regional Park is a spacious campground on the doorstep of the Northern Rocky Mountains.

This 25 unit campground is located 96.2kms north of Fort Nelson, and is a short 3km drive off the Alaska Highway.

The park lies on the banks of the Tetsa River, and is a popular destination for anglers. The Tetsa hosts a variety of fish including Arctic Grayling, Gold-eye, and the powerful and rambunctious Bull Trout.

Situated in the boreal forest, each site is large enough to accommodated the largest of RV’s and travel trailers, yet sheltered enough to please those travelling a little litter and spending their night in a tent.

All campsites come with a picnic table and fire ring. There are vault toilets available within close distance from wherever you are in the park.

Firewood is available, and it is included in the $20(cnd) fee for a nightly stay.

The campground also features a day use area with children’s playground.

Please note that there are no hook-ups at this campground. If you are travelling with a holiday trailer or RV, be prepared for ‘dry camping’.

Tetsa River Regional Park is conveniently located on the eastern entrance to the Muskwa-Kechika Management Area. The Muskwa-Kechika is a wilderness mecca and considered to be the ‘Serengeti of the North’. Keep an eye out for wildlife like Moose, Caribou, Deer, Red Fox, Grizzly Bear, and many others while spending time in the area.
