Fall Adventure in the Northern Rockies
The Northern Rockies are at their very best during the Fall.
Come and experience it for yourself!
As we come to the close of yet another busy Summer along the Alaska Highway, it is hard not to feel as though time is moving all too fast here in the north. With an adventure log chalked full of new memories, highway travellers have since made their way home to prepare for the familiar routines of September.
With that being said, there is still much discovery to be had along the Alaska Highway as we approach Fall. Although temperatures may be dropping and days are shorter, the trade-off is a season that is often a favourite amongst many of the locals who call the Alaska Highway and Northern Rockies home.
September along the Alaska Highway is a captivating period which can be invigorating to a persons adventurous spirit. With the decline in summer crowds, the opportunity to find solitude and fulfillment in nature is without limit.
The hot days of Summer in the rear-view, Fall is a great time to spot wildlife such as Caribou, Moose, and Grizzly Bear feeding along the highway corridor in an effort to maximize their calorie count before Winter. With the increasingly shortened days, longer nights open up the potential to witness the dancing glow of the Aurora Borealis overhead. Taking a hike through the backcountry is an experience unlike anything else at any other time throughout the year as the foliage transforms into magnificent autumn colour. Truly sights to behold!
How about closing out the day soaking in the Liard River Hot Springs? There might be no better time to experience one of northern British Columbias true gem’s than during the cool, crisp days of September and October.
